Dating back to the 18th Century and drawing on a rich and varied heritage the Stamford Arts Centre is a flourishing multi-arts venue, providing the oppurtunity to participate in a huge selection of varying art forms, from theatre, cinema, music, to sculpture, dance, painting and drawing.
Comprising of a 166 seat theatre, which doubles up as a cinema. The theatre is home for the Shoestring Theatre company providing five weeks of drama through the year, along with the many professional touring theatre companies which visit. Our Exquisite Ballroom frequently hosts a range of concerts, along with a popular classical music season which runs from Oct through to May every year. Our tremendous gallery is spacious, light and airy and is free to look around.
The main gallery accommodates an interesting and varied programme of contemporary exhibitions from local and international artists including photography, painting, textile, drawing and sculpture.
