Harrogate Theatres – Convention Centre Auditorium, Royal Hall and Harrogate Theatre

    Harrogate Convention Centre

Is a spectacular world class conference venue with an impressive 2000-seater auditorium geared up for some of the best British and international acts.

Harrogate Theatres runs a programme of live events at the Harrogate Convention Centre throughout the year.

    Royal Hall

The Royal Hall is a Grade II* listed Edwardian performance hall and theatre located just on the outskirts of Harrogate Town Centre.

With its 950-seat capacity, spectacular décor and large versatile floor space, the Royal Hall provides a breath-taking setting. Over 100-years-old, the Royal Hall was re-opened by Prince Charles in 2008 following an eight million pound restoration. Harrogate Theatres runs a programme of live events at the Royal Hall throughout the year.

    Harrogate Theatre

Built in 1900 Harrogate Theatre is a typical example of a late Victorian proscenium arch venue built over five floors.

The building contains two purpose built performance spaces, which are a mid-scale proscenium arch theatre with a playing space of approximately 90 square metres and a seating capacity of 500.  The main auditorium seating is set across three floors, stalls (on the ground floor), circle (on the first floor) and a balcony (on the second floor).  In the stalls there are 4 comfort seats (D2, D22, J2, J23), with a bit of extra room around them for additional wiggle room.

There is also a small flexible studio with an audience capacity of up to 60. Both spaces offer a year-round diverse programme of theatre, dance, music and comedy.

Harrogate Theatre is also home to a number of amateur societies that regularly perform musicals and plays throughout the year.

Harrogate Studio Theatre is an intimate 60-seat performance space situated on the third floor at the top of Harrogate Theatre.

The Studio is a versatile space and offers a programme of diverse, experimental and often brand new work by some of the best emerging and mid-career artists.

For audiences, the Studio Theatre presents an opportunity to experience experimental work.  For associate artists, it is a safe space to present new work.
